FALL NEWS

More often than not I must apologize for not keeping up with my news and columns. The busier I become the less time I have to update. This time I covered through November due to my packed schedule. There's also a new column up on practicing. Let me know your thoughts via "da groove house". So once again, sorry for the delay, and thanks for consistently visiting me on here and keeping in touch.

September began with a leisurely labor day vacation on the east end of Long Island, and jumped right into touring and a C.D release with spiritual singer/songwriter Neshama Carlebach. Her new C.D Journey featuring myself and Gilad on drums and percussion is now available. Also available is The Manhattan Transfer's new one "Vibrate" with myself, Will Lee, Gil Goldstien, and Yaron Gershovsky as the main rhythm section. Session wise, I wrote and recorded two percussion pieces for the FOX television program Jonny Zero. The show airs this January on FOX.

On the touring scene, I'll be touring the midwest with great jazz and blues vocalist Janis Siegel. The band also features pianist Alan Pasqua and bassist Darek Oles. Immediately following that tour, I'll be going to Greece with Manhattan Vibes for a one week tour of the country beginning with a festival in Thesaloniki. The band features Christos Rafalides on vibes, Mike Pope on bass, Donny McCaslin on saxes, and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Mark Ledford. After arriving back in New York City on the 6th of October, I then leave for Japan on the 7th to begin touring with The Manhattan Transfer.

In early November I'll be in Los Angeles teaching and performing. To book a lesson please email me. The Manhattan Transfer will then hit the road again through Thanksgiving. Check my "dates" for details. On November 11th I have been invited to perform at PASIC 2004 as a member of Manhattan Vibes. Luckily The Transfer has a day off which will allow me to fly to Nashville early that morning for our 11am performance. I'm looking forward to that "drummers hang".

In December I'll be playing locally in NYC with Joe Brack and many other local rock acts as well as a week at The Blue Note with The Manhattan Transfer and a week through the new year at Birdland with Janis Siegel.

That's pretty much it through the New Year. C.D releases during that time include David Morgan's debut and Kelley Lee Evans "Fight Or Flight" . I'll keep you posted on any additional information. Until then, keep grooving!!

December Television Appearances:
The Emeril Show on The Food Network with The Manhattan Transfer
Emeril's Christmas Holiday Party show airs December 5, December 12 and December 19 at 8:00pm, with repeats at midnight.

Be well,

HASSY:-).
