October 2003 Update

Hi there,

What a summer! It was good to be back in NYC for more than 5 days. I was on the road since June 11th and loved every minute of it!

Fall, for me is the season of new beginnings. I really love autumn and this October and November is packed with music .

September began with a Jo Davidson gig in Boston, and ended with The Manhattan Transfer in Vegas.

October is packed with the Manhattan Vibes in Greece, Ravi
Coltrane in LA for the John Coltrane festival and The Manhattan Transfer in Dallas, Australia, and New Zealand, to take a peek at my gig schedule.

On the recording front, I recently played percussion and some drumset on Deb Silvers new C.D. Deb is a great vocalist originally from the UK and living in NYC. The arrangements have very slick funk and Brazilian grooves which I played on djembe, doumbek, pandiera, and siurdo along with a couple of simple drumset tunes where I used a kick snare hat and ride miked with 2 overheads. I also played percussion on Pericles Kanaris' latest effort. Pericles is an excellent composer originally from Athens, Greece. We got
some interesting grooves using djembe, udu, and brushes. I'll keep you updated on both releases. Mimi Cohen's CD "Meet Mimi Cohen" was also recently released. This C.D. also features Ben Butler on guitar and Conrad Korsch on bass.

A big thank you to all the fans who continue to make Traveler a rising success.

The new year will bring live gigs with The Steve Hass Project and I'm working putting a new rock project with some of my favorite rock players here in NYC. I'll keep you posted.

My message board, "Da Groove House" is also updated with new pix from the road. Check it out!
