JULY NEWS

It's 2:15am in the morning here in Madrid Spain where I just played to a packed outdoor house with The Manhattan Transfer.

We have a 6am lobby call to head to Frankfurt where we then have to rehearse with a big band for a show the next day.

Although it's tiring, I very much enjoy the excitement of back to back work. It has been like this for the past few years and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here are the latest happenings: On the recording scene there has been quite a bit going on. I recorded on a Jennifer Love Hewitt single that is to be used as a theme song for an E Entertainment Television program. I'm on Janis Siegel's latest for Telarc entitled "A Thousand Beautiful Things". I have also been working steadily in the studio with producer and bassist Rami Yaddid, for "Yaddid It" productions.

Very recently I contributed to Ravi Coltrane track to be used on an upcoming Verve re-mix compilation.

This month's live scene is mostly in Europe where I'm on tour with The Manhattan Transfer. I also have a week of shows with Christos Rafalides and Manhattan Vibes at Dizzy's Coca-Cola club. This is a new venue in the Time Warner building at Columbus Circle in NYC. The same band is also playing the Syracuse Arts and Jazz Foundation festival.

That's it for July.
Hope to see you on tour!!
Keep Swingin'
HASSY:-)
