June begins with Janis Siegel's west coast tour, a week at the NYC's Blue Note jazz club and a date at Sculler's jazz club in Boston. At the end of the month I begin tech rehearsals for The Manhattan Transfer's summer tour. We'll be using additional tracks on Pro-Tools for drums loops and some guitar and keyboard parts. The title of the their new C.D due out in September has now changed to "Vibrate". On the session front, I managed to fit in one session on two off days, June 24 and 25. I'll be recording with the great David Morgan. David is usually in the producer's chair when he hires me but this time he's the artist and the producer. He's working on his first solo effort and I'm very excited to be a part of it. He's a great songwriter, producer and pianist. July is The Manhattan Transfers european tour and we'll be spending plenty time in Italy, along with Finland, Austria, and Spain. In endorsement news, I'm very proud to announce that I have just signed with YAMAHA DRUMS. After playing YAMAHA for years on the road, I decided that between the great sounding drums and the amazing support of Joe Testa (artist relations) that there is no better drum company. After I made the switch, I went to yamahadrums.com to check out some colors, and I was blown by the kits and the craftmanship. The drums are custom made and come in amazing finishes. Visit http://www.yamahadrums.com to see what I mean.
