News for April
Happy Spring folks!
There are some new artists being added to the roster this month. I'll be doing gigs in NYC with rocker Aaron Zimmer, Marcus Wolf, fusion band Front Burner, and also with producer/keyboardist Bennet Paster. The Manhattan Transfer is taking the road this month with an east coast tour and a short stint in Las
Vegas.
I'll be in L.A doing some private teaching and session work April
15th-30th. If you're interested in a lesson drop Maria a line at
Maria@stevehass.net.
Producer/guitarist Ben Butler and I along with bassist Rich Hammond are forming an instrumental trio which will be performing monthly in Manhattan beginning in May. We will be doing originals and arrangements of great cover tunes in
a guitar trio setting. I'll keep you posted on that.
My column this month deals with the dimishing amount of studio work in today's scene and how musician's are adapting. While I was recording with bass legend Will Lee back in January he helped me realize just how much the scene has changed, even from just a few years back.
Also, look out for my interview on Drumradio.com. It's a great website for drummers put together by a drummer and great guy Rick Watts.
So that's it for April. Be sure to drop me a line in the "da groove house"!
HASSY:-).
