I know this is a bit late, but I would like to wish you all a happy new year. It has been a very busy winter and a bitter sweet new year. We lost two great musicians at the beginning of the year. Rest in peace Michael Brecker and Alice Coltrane. Michael was the most influential saxophonist since John Coltrance. A very sweet man and brilliant musician. During my time in Ravi Coltrane's band I was fortunate enough to meet and play with Alice Coltrane on several occasions. She was an inspiring person. Both will be greatly missed.
I'm very proud and honored to have my ideas published in Modern Drummer Magazine. They have accepted several of my workshop pieces one of which is in the February issue.
In studio news I will be recording with the great artists above. New releases by Lisa Richards, George Pettit and KJ Denhert are now on my selected discography. I would like to congratulate artist and friends Kelley Lee Evans who's album Fight or Flight, which I had the pleasure of playing on, has been nominated for a Juno award(Canadian's grammy equivalent).
In live news I am still touring part time with The Manhattan Transfer and have been playing in a few projects in Los Angeles with artists David Garfield, Jeff Richman, and Mitch Forman. I will also be doing a show with Janis Siegel in New York at The Iridium on February 14th. For more info on live shows please click here.
